The Painting Workshop

The Painting Workshop, located in charming Mt. Washington Village and now also in Historic Reisterstown, has been in existence since 1995.

We believe, as Picasso says, that "everyone is an artist". Young or old, the art of creating is a joyous, exciting process, and we try to provide the room, space, and materials for that to happen. We encourage students to try new things, to be inspired by other artists, to find their voice.

The Painting Workshop has built a YURT! What's a yurt? It is a circular, lattice-framed dwelling, traditionally used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Our yurt is an extra studio for us, fully heated and cooled, perfect for art classes and yoga classes! Watch this 90-second video about it!
